This page is intended for owners of Black Rose, as it discusses my favourite game setting. If you do not own one, or the key to one, then this discussion won't be of any use to you.
As Black Rose is very straight forward in the game play, "Sinking ships" and Completing "Broadside awards" is basically all you can do. The game could get boring easily when using default game play settings. That's why I changed some of the setting to make the game more of a challenge.
I go for three balls. Playing five ball games at home makes you lazy. You will notice this when you play, and pay for, a 3 ball machine somewhere else. However this is a matter of taste.
I start my games with none of the sink ship letters already lit, it must be a goal to get a ship sunk, not a nuisance during game play. But I did disable the resetting of the LOCK letters after multiball, so I can start multiball more often. You can also increase the difficulty of collecting "Sink ship" letters. If you set it to hard a letter can only be collected on one of the outer ramps at a time.
Try to minimise the change to get a jackpot as a random award. This way the Jackpot will grow to thirty million more easily and this way make it more fun to complete "Broadside awards".
Change this to extra ball, you don't have to pay for your games, right?
